Reality can often be an illusion when looking at photography. One may think “the camera does not lie” and maybe it doesn’t. But the camera can stretch the truth from time to time. The camera is also an escape from reality. It is a portal to a world that is not bound by rules and regulations, gravity and a need for oxygen. Life is how you portray it. Through my images I have attempted to create a reality of illusions. I have taken ordinary every day situations and placed them in a world where they do not belong – underwater. The camera gives me a sense of control and the ability to manipulate life and distort it into anything my mind can create. It is through this that I am able to achieve my greatest accomplishments.
